National Diploma in Computing (Business Applications)
To build on the foundations laid in the National Certificate in Computing course to produce an I.T. professional who is competent in the following areas:
- Developing or advising on computerised solutions to business problems.
- PC package and network support.
- Training of I.T. users.
National Certificate in Computing with Merit or Distinction, or equivalent qualification. Applicants holding a National Certificate with one year's post Certificate experience will also be considered for admission. Where demand exceeds the number of places available, allocation of places will be based on academic achievement and the relevance of courses studied.
One year full-time. Also available through ACCS mode.
The course prepares students for careers in the growth area for personnel who can bridge the gap between business practitioners and computer technologists.
- Semester V: Object-oriented Computing, I.T. Training, Practical Networking, Software Quality Management, Management and Marketing, Elective (Business European Language or Business Mathematics).
- Semester VI: Computer Solutions, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Multimedia Usage and Development, Computer Related Technology, Elective (Business European Language or Mathematical Modelling)
